As we celebrate our Pearl Parish Foundation
Anniversary, we give thanks and rekindle the
many gifts of Jesus, the Good Shepherd to
our community. Our greatest treasure lies
not in the church edifice, nor in the regal
adornments of the altar but in the hearts
of our multitude of devoted, disciplined and
diligent parishioners.
Through the Good Shepherd Pearl Awards,
we pay a modest tribute to the noble and
kind-hearted parishioners and church organizations
who emulate some, or most of the virtues
and qualities of Jesus the Good Shepherd,
as embodied in our 2004 Parish Constitution,
namely:
Aspires for greatness with humility;
Leads by serving and serves by leading;
Is mission-driven and purpose-propelled;
Selfless and self-sacrificing; and
Motivated by an endless love.
This year's awardees are not the only pearls
of our parish but they represent all the
people that comprise the living Church -
the silent servants, the clergy and the
parish-based organizations that embrace
our parishioners and help them grow in faith
through evangelization, prayer, service
and personal sacrifices.
We are the pearls that make our Church
beautiful. And by our faith, we become God's
gift to our fellow brothers and sisters.
