| In
1983, with the blessing of Jaime
Cardinal Sin, several members of
the clergy trekked to Baguio City to attend
a Parish Renewal (PRE) seminar facilitated
by Father Charles Gallagher, S.J.,
aimed at awakening and revitalizing parish
life in the churches.
Monsignor Fidelis
brought the seminar to our parish, renamed
it as PREX, which in Latin means prayer,
and with the help of a core of dedicated
lead couples, began a saga of evangelization
throughout the country.
The first PREX Secretariat
was organized in 1984 and was tasked in
overseeing the conduct of our monthly parish
seminars which has reached about 258 classes
as of July 2005. The PREX continues to be
vibrant and alive to this very day and has
reached out to more than 800 parishes nationwide.
