Funerals
AGREEMENT
FOR THE USE OF THE ASCENSION CHAPEL
Use of the
Ascension Chapel
- The Good Shepherd Ascension Chapel is a holy
place for Catholics. Only Catholics can be accommodated
for the purpose of the funeral wake of a family
member or a loved one of the contracting party.
- To maintain the solemnity of the wake, please
maintain silence especially during Cathedral
Masses. Children should not be left unsupervised
by their parents or guardians.
- The Chapel and its facilities should always
be kept clean and sanitary. Please dispose of
your trash properly. Avoid spitting and throwing
gums and cigarette butts on the floor.
- In case of any defacement or damage to the
property, the contracting party shall be liable
and will be asked to pay for the damages incurred.
Terms of Payment
- A down payment of 50%, computed from the daily
rate (P3,500.00) shall be due
within the first 24 hours of use. The balance
shall be settled on the agreed date specified
on the contract or prior to the departure of
the body of the deceased. Please notify the
Parish Office in case an extension of lease
is required.
Prohibitions
- All open spaces outside the chapel are not
to be used as a dining area. No tables shall
also be put up outside without the permission
of the Parish Priest.
- The Chapel is considered a sacred place, therefore
no gambling or games of chance (card games,
mahjong, etc.) or alcoholic beverages are allowed
at anytime.
Funeral Masses
- Funeral Masses can be arranged at the Parish
Office but subject to the availability of a
Priest. Please notify us of your plans at least
one day in advance in order for us to arrange
and schedule for a priest. Funeral Masses are
arranged only upon request of the contracting
party. The stipend offered to the Priest-presider
is the responsibility of the requesting party.
- If a Funeral Mass is to be presided by a
Priest other than the authorized priests in
the Cathedral, the following steps should be
taken:
- Please inform the Parish Office about
the name of and details about the priest.
As a standard practice, permission to celebrate
mass in either our Chapel or Cathedral is
required from our Parish Priest.
- In case the Priest is unknown to our
Parish Priest, you must present a copy of
the Priest's Celebret (a Priest's official
lD and authorization for a Priest to celebrate
mass) to the Parish Office and wait for
approval.
