At the right side of
the altar, a lampstand of gold and silver,
receives as much attention as the alter
and the tabernacle. “You shall make
a lampstand…” (Exodus 25: 31-37).
This lampstand is also called the menorah,
the symbol of Israel today.
The church, having followed
the directions of God, has exercised an
act of obedience that every Christian should
perform. More than believing that God will
reign in this church because His altar,
tabernacle and lampstand are here, these
furnishings create an atmosphere that allow
a person to feel close to God and to remind
him of the wonderful things with which God
has blessed him. This is best achieved through
the faithful rendition of the church architecture.
By basing the designs on the Old Testament,
the people are rewarded as witnesses to
these “relics”.
The Ark of the Covenant
was lost, but the parishioners of this Church
can boast and say. “we have found
it and it is back in the house of the Lord.” |
